About
A neoclassical landmark on Shanghai’s Bund, renewed for a new chapter of hospitality, culture and international exchange.
A landmark with a living story
Set within a neoclassical landmark on Shanghai Bund, The House of Roosevelt brings together history, architecture and contemporary hospitality. Built in 1920, the building once served as the headquarters of Jardine Matheson before the Roosevelt family restored it in 2010, reflecting their longstanding connection with China. Original hardwood floors, crystal chandeliers and Greek mosaic details remain part of the experience. From these preserved interiors, the House looks across the Huangpu River towards the Pudong skyline, creating a meeting point between old Shanghai and the modern city.
A century on the Bund
The restoration retained the building's historic character while adapting it for dining, private gatherings and flexible events. Former meeting rooms and directors' offices now frame memorable views across the Bund and Huangpu River.
